Catch Chicken.com Pete’s Make-Believe Restaurant for Pretend, Invisible People • Established 2005

Welcome to Catch Chicken. Please make yourself at home. The name Catch Chicken is based on a 2005 television commercial for Hardees/Carl Jr.’s, in which a voiceover announcer gives a chicken a series of verbal commands, similar to those you might give your dog. One of these is, “Chicken, catch!” As the announcer says this, a ball comes on screen and lands next to the chicken. Pete (age 4 at the time) thought this exchange was hysterical and eventually decided to start his own pretend restaurant called Catch Chicken. This website came about as one incarnation of that enterprise. It has since evolved into a more general-purpose site.
